Whispers, shouts and laughter: the original actor’s performance, carried into a new language. Music and sound effects stay as they were, and scenes where several people talk at once get a voice for every speaker.
Compare it with the traditional way of dubbing
TraditionalCast voice actors for every language, book a studio, and direct the original performance all over again.
Hudson AIVoices that follow the original actor’s breathing and emotion, generated directly. Each character keeps the same voice to the end.
TraditionalWith dialogue baked into the mix, the background was hard to save: music and effects were rebuilt or dropped.
Hudson AIDialogue and background are separated, so the original music, effects and ambience stay and only the dialogue changes.
TraditionalScenes where several people talk at once, like variety shows, are where automatic dubbing broke down most often.
Hudson AIWho speaks when is tracked per speaker, so overlapping lines are dubbed in each person’s own voice.
TraditionalSubtitles were ordered separately, then re-synced to the dubbed cut.
